Writing Desk

Sold
I painted this piece in my favorite grey - CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist.  It's a warm grey with brown undertones.  I painted my china cabinet in this color as well.  The desk reminds me a little of this Ballard's desk.  I already had it painted when I saw the one at Ballard's and I almost painted over the Seattle Mist with Valspar's Cream in My Coffee, but when I started waxing I really liked the grey.

Would make a perfect desk, accent piece, or foyer table.  I think I'm going to put it up for sale, but I may end up getting rid of my current desk and using this one instead!

The drawer bottom needed to be replaced so I used bead board:

Vintage Vanity

Sold
This vintage vanity with curved drawers has been painted in ASCP in French Linen, lightly distressed, and sealed with clear wax.  The top has been refinished in dark walnut and the inside of the drawers painted in Louis Blue.  I found it in a thrift store and it was in great shape with the original hardware.  The mirror is also in excellent condition and ready to hang.

Someone had refinished it in maybe mahogany with a very glossy topcoat.

My Grandmother's Secretary

I remember this secretary being in my Grandmother's bedroom growing up and recently found out my Uncle had it in his barn.  My mom asked if I was interested in it and I immediately said yes!  I replaced the back with bead board and added doors.  It had doors and a desk cover (not sure what you call it) at one time, but not when I got it.  I had my husband make simple door frames and stapled hardware cloth onto the back.  I may put a desk cover back on at some point, but for now I like it open.  It now lives in our guest room.  I first painted it in Graphite then painted over that in Duck Egg mixed with Paris Grey and Graphite and sealed with clear wax.

One of these days I am going to learn how to take good photographs, but for now it's just the run of the mill point and shoot pics.  :)
